VAT Calculation Formulas
1. Add VAT
Gross Price = Net Price × (1 + VAT Rate ÷ 100)
Example:
Net Price = 100
VAT Rate = 20%
Gross Price = 100 × 1.20 = 120
VAT Amount = 20
2. Remove VAT
Net Price = Gross Price ÷ (1 + VAT Rate ÷ 100)
Example:
Gross Price = 120
VAT Rate = 20%
Net Price = 120 ÷ 1.20 = 100
VAT Amount = 20
3. Calculate VAT Amount from Net Price
VAT Amount = Net Price × VAT Rate ÷ 100
Example:
Net Price = 250
VAT Rate = 15%
VAT = 37.50
4. Calculate VAT Included in Gross Price
VAT Amount = Gross Price × VAT Rate ÷ (100 + VAT Rate)
Example:
Gross Price = 230
VAT Rate = 15%
VAT = 30
Net Price = 200

Understanding VAT Formulas
VAT (Value Added Tax) is calculated as a percentage of the taxable value of goods or services. Depending on whether the amount entered includes VAT or excludes VAT, different formulas are used.
